Welcome to MOPUL'S Kitchen, where the rich tapestry of Sri Lankan flavors comes alive through the culinary expertise of our founders, Chefs Montinie Cooray and Upul. Established in 2023, Mopuls Kitchen is the result of a shared passion for showcasing the authentic tastes of Sri Lankan cuisine.

Our culinary journey began when Montinie and Upul, decided to combine their talents and bring a taste of Sri Lanka to Mansfield. Montinie Cooray, an Executive Head Chef, whose experience spans over 35 years. His roots trace back to his upbringing in Sri Lanka, where he first discovered the magic of flavors in the kitchen alongside his mother. His culinary quest led him to culinary school and eventually to Dubai, where he has earned a collection of prestigious culinary medals. Now, hailing from the culinary capital, London, Montinie has not only delighted the palates of high-profile individuals but has also left his mark on the international stage by catering for Cricket World Cup, Rugby World Cup, World Athletics and large-scale diplomatic banqueting events. 

Partnering with Montinie is Upul, a seasoned chef with over 18 years of experience, whose culinary roots trace back to his childhood in a family bakery, where the art of baking became a part of his lifestyle. His pursuit of excellence led him to the vibrant city of London, where he honed his skills in the dynamic world of hospitality. Embracing his talent and unwavering passion, Upul transitioned into the realm of pastry, showcasing his creativity. Over the years, he has crafted delectable masterpieces that have graced the tables of high-profile events, earning him a well-deserved reputation, alongside with Montinie. With a wealth of experience, Upul has risen to the prestigious role of head pastry chef and now is bringing his culinary expertise to life at MOPUL'S Kitchen
